  • Court To Rehear Charlie Gard's Case

The parents of the baby, Connie Yates and Chris Gard, were asked by the parents of the baby at the gates of the Great Ormond street children's hospital to take their 11-month-old baby to an experimental treatment.

A new hearing is set to begin on Thursday (local time), with parents Connie Yates and Chris Gard given 48 hours to prepare what "new evidence" supporting United States treatment.

The decision came after an emotionally charged hearing in which Gard's mother wept in frustration and his father yelled at a lawyer.

Whilst debating whether Charlie Gard should be allowed to travel to America to receive experimental treatment for his mitochondrial depletion syndrome, the LBC presenter said that be believes sometimes the doctors get it wrong after his brother recovered from a horrific vehicle accident.

Siegel said the baby was in discomfort, and while the treatment won't bring about a cure, it could potentially extend his life.

Pope Francis has offered to help treat the child at the Baby Jesus Hospital adjoining the Vatican while President Donald Trump has also offered to help the little baby.

Many in the global community disagree with Francis, including President Donald Trump, Pope Francis, a host of pro-life organizations, and Gard's supporters across the world, in light of Francis' previous decision to deny Gard treatment based on his judgement that Gard's life was not worth living.

Parents of Charlie Gard, Connie Yates and Chris Gard pose for the media ahead of delivering a petition with more than 350,000 signatures to Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, Sunday, July 9, 2017.

Celtics make deal to send Bradley to Detroit, ESPN reports
It is certainly not enough to put them over the edge to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers, but it's a small step forward. Either way, whether you agree with it or not-Bradley is being traded and fans will have to see how it all plays out.

He said: It seems that if he remains at Great Ormond Street it seems that nearly certainly his life support will be withdrawn and clearly he is likely then to die.

Pope Francis last week expressed his support for the baby's parents and said he hoped doctors would allow them to "care for their child until the end".

Francis - who also ruled on an earlier chapter in the case - said everyone involved in the case wanted the best for Charlie.

I am not going to rake over facts, the judge said, adding he would analyse the case calmly and fairly.

Armstrong claimed that Francis' previous decision against the parents' request in April raises questions about his capability to hear the latest case fairly, though the judge insisted he very strongly wants Gard to live.

Chris Gard said, "Our parental rights have been stripped away, we can't even take our own son away to die, we're denied that, d'you not think we've been put through enough, our final wish".

"There is nothing to lose, he deserves a chance", she added.

The British government says the treatment would be extremely painful for the baby and would like for him to stay in Britain, but in Dr. Marc Siegel's opinion, the parents should be in charge. -- This story has been corrected to show that the surname of the CEO of Americans United for Life is Foster, not Glenn.
