A 4-year-old boy was shot in the head during an apparent road-rage incident in Cleveland, according to officials. One of two men inside the auto opened fire at the woman's SUV on Interstate-90 near Dead Man's Curve, according to police.

The mother said the suspects were driving a four-door white Pontiac with tinted windows. Police said he underwent surgery to remove bullet fragments.

A 7-year-old was in the vehicle as well, but escaped uninjured. The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital and is reportedly in serious condition.

The auto the mother said she honked at followed her and her son to the merge at Route 2 and I-90 just east of Dead Man's Curve where shots were fired into their vehicle.

Pre-Season player preview: Paul Pogba
Manchester United have announced the signing of Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic for a fee of 40 million pounds. He also looks set to wear the captain's armband more often than not next season in Carrick's absence.

The boy's mother claims that her son was shot as part of a road rage incident in which two men in another vehicle started tailing her after she honked at them while at an intersection.

Two black men were in the Pontiac, but other than that, witnesses didn't give further explanation. The woman, who was not identified, then pulled off on the East 55th exit on Interstate 90 and took the boy to the hospital, Cleveland.com reported. Cleveland police said that the injured boy was sitting in the rear passenger side seat.
