  • Trump Campaign Handed Over Thousands Of Documents To Senate Judiciary Committee Last Week

U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation agents conducted a predawn raid of the home of Paul Manafort, former chairman of Donald Trump's presidential campaign in Alexandria, Virginia, a spokesperson for Manafort confirmed Wednesday. Manafort, however, complied with law enforcement officers.

A Manafort spokesman confirmed the raid, which the Washington Post described as a pre-dawn search of Manafort's Alexandria, Virginia home just outside of Washington on July 28.

In that capacity, Manafort was present in the June 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, which she says was misrepresented by the U.S. media.

He managed Trump's campaign until he was forced to resign in August amid questions over his dealing in Ukraine and work for the country's pro-Russia former president, Viktor Yanukovych. After leaving the Trump campaign months before Trump was elected, he's been lurking largely in the background of a series of revelations about possible Trump campaign collusion with Russian Federation. It was the day after me met with the Senate Intelligence Committee.

The Washington Post first reported news of the raid Wednesday morning.

Late and former president Roger Ailes was forced out over sexual harassment claims last year, as was O'Reilly earlier this year. As a result, Bolling's usual Saturday show on Fox Business , Cashin' In , was pulled from the programming slate this weekend.

Manafort's close associates fear that Mueller is working to build another case against him, unrelated to the presidential campaign that would then be used to force him to reveal information about Trump, in return for a softer sentence.

Fusion GPS, the firm that compiled a dossier at the center of the federal Russian Federation probe, has not yet turned over any documents, according to the committee's spokesperson, though a source told CNN the firm plans to provide the committee with "thousands" of pages of documents Wednesday.

Manafort attended the meeting at the invitation of Trump Jr. after he was promised damaging information about presidential opponent Hillary Clinton.

The significance of the records seized by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents working with special counsel Robert Mueller was unclear, the report said. He has also cooperated with congressional committees investigating the election interference. Among the notes Manafort reportedly submitted to Congress are his notes from the now-infamous June 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr and a Russian lawyer at the Trump Tower.
