On Monday, Engels registered a case with the police alleging assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm. Pictures on social media appeared to show Engels bleeding from her head after the alleged incident at the Capital 20 West Hotel, in the upmarket Johannesburg district of Sandton.

South Africa'sNews24 reports that Mrs. Mugabe cooperated with the police and was therefore not arrested.
"I had no clue who this woman was when she started beating me", Engels told local radio station 702.
Gutu said Grace's behaviour was not only embarrassing to the Mugabe family but to Zimbabweans also. "I had no idea what was going on".
A bodyguard asked her and her friend to wait in a separate room, after which the assault occurred, she said.
