The cryptic video is generating buzz that she's fighting back against a mean-spirited trend of snake emojis appearing next to her Instagram photos, and/or that she's just embracing the vitriol and using it for publicity.

Her album "1989" took just 36 weeks to earn more than $500 million, according to Neilsen Music.

Some speculated that the 27-year-old had been hacked, while many others believed the mass content cull was in anticipation of new material. Five colors representing her five previous albums (Taylor Swift - White, Fearless - Green, Speak Now - Blue, Red - Red, 1989 - Black).

Haters of the star inundated her social media with snake emojis, with the insult becoming a bit of a meme.
