In a CBS Sunday Morning interview with anchor Jane Pauley (Clinton taped the segment Friday at her NY home), Clinton looked back at the past 10 months and shared some inside perspective of the campaign against Donald Trump. "It hurts a lot", the 2016 Democratic nominee said in an interview on CBS Sunday Morning, the first in a series of appearances to highlight the upcoming publication of "What Happened", her memoir about the campaign.

The last presidential candidate in her shoes was Al Gore-a fellow victor of the popular vote and loser of the election.

She added, "I understood that there were many Americans who, because of the financial crash, there was anger". "And doesn't it kind of haunt you, " she wanted to know.

'I think I am good, ' Clinton answered when the CBS journalist asked her how she was. "I take responsibility for all of them".

Clinton said she had no idea what the outcome would be heading into Election Day. I was just gobsmacked. "I am done with being a candidate, but I am not done with politics because I believe our nation's future is at stake".

However, she points to outsides factors that she said played a role in her loss, such as alleged Russian election meddling and the federal probe into her private email server.

The PRCA, which represents 400 businesses and 20,000 individuals, said the firm had purposely played on frayed race relations. Instead, it wrote off the holding and handed it back.

Clinton also recalled her head-spinning distress on election night and the following morning, when giving her concession speech felt like "an out-of-body experience", she said.

Clinton told Pauley she was so certain of victory over the eventual victor, President Donald Trump, that she had only drafted a victory speech, not a concession speech. Conducted by Jane Pauley, it got right down to business with a blunt admission from the former US senator and secretary of state: Her concession speech came a day late in large part because she hadn't written one. "It's part of the demonstration of the continuity of our government", Clinton said.

Clinton said she quelled what she termed her "painful" loss to Donald Trump with "long walks in the woods" and "my share of Chardonnay".

CLINTON: Well, I thought Trump was behaving in a deplorable manner...

"A lot of people don't want to hear about my plans".

CLINTON: No, but they were already energized.
