Speaking to reporters today, Pakistani Prime Minister Khaqan Abbasi said his country remains interested in joint operations with the United States to resolve disputes over the Afghan War.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi denied the existence of militant sanctuaries in a meeting with reporters on Tuesday, saying Pakistan is "fighting agents of chaos".

He denied the accusations that Pakistan supported militant groups as he batted away suggestions that Mr Trump's comments would upend relations between the Cold War allies.

Following Mr Trump's remarks, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson cautioned that Pakistan could lose its status as a major American ally and see its USA military aid suspended.

Talking to a delegation of MNAs from Sargodha Division at the PM Office, Prime Minister Abbasi urged the parliamentarians to renew efforts and increase their outreach to the people to address issues on priority.

Rohingya Muslims massacre: Aung San Suu Kyi should not be silent
The region has witnessed tension between its Buddhist and Muslim populations since communal violence broke out in 2012. They use "the combination of human rights violations, and deliberate impoverishment, to force Rohingyas to leave".

Khaqan Abbasi said Pakistan had suffered massively due to instability in Afghanistan but it was committed for a peaceful resolution of the Afghan issue. "We are open (with the US)".

"Pakistan offered cooperation and Pakistan continues to offer cooperation against terrorism", said the prime minister. Pakistan and Afghanistan should work together to overcome the menace of terrorism.

Abbasi said it WAs unfair on Washington's part to hold Pakistan responsible for all the troubles it was facing against militants in Afghanistan.

The prime minister asked the media persons to visit Miran Shah - the administrative headquarters of the war-stricken North Waziristan agency - and see themselves how Pakistan's military had cleared the area by offering great sacrifices in the war against terror. Afghanistan's government is slowly losing its grip with the Taliban now controlling or contests about 40 percent of the country, which USA officials say couldn't be possible without help from Pakistan's military.

About the recent BRICS declaration, the prime minister said the statement was not specific to Pakistan.
