  • Hizbul Mujahideen commander Abdul Qayoom Najar was killed on Tuesday as Army foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control

The Indian Army has foiled Pakistan's intrusion bid in Keran of Jammu and Kashmir, media reports said.

India claimed in September a year ago that its military had conducted surgical strikes on militants camps across the Line of Control after armed men attacked an Indian army camp killing 19 soldiers.

The Indian Army effectively and strongly retaliated to unprovoked Pakistan aggression, causing heavy damage to the enemy posts.

Singh's comments come after the Jammu and Kashmir Police said in a report that Dar had gone to cast his vote in the parliamentary by-poll on April 9 and he was a victim of "wrongful confinement".

Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Nirmal Singh, Wednesday said Rohingya Muslims had entered India illegally and had to be "shifted" or they could be used by Pakistan as terrorists.

"A BAT action was attempted by seven to eight armed intruders (from PoK side) today at 1.00 pm in the area of Keran Sector (Kupwara)". It acts under the cover of shelling by Pakistani troops.

Ever since the mutilation incidents, Indian forces have kept a close eye for BAT squads who attempt to cross the border to target Indian Army.

Earlier on May 26, the Army had claimed killing two members of Pakistan's BAT in Uri sector of the LoC. The subsequent skirmishes between the facing armies had left several civilians dead and many injured and forced the border dwellers to desert their shell-hit hamlets, mainly in Rajouri district, and relocate to safer locations.
