Thousands of West Tennesseans dressed in pink and hit the streets today to make strides against breast cancer.

The 5K walk is to recognize survivors and those still fighting breast cancer. I was affected by this because my sister-in-law has breast cancer and was a survivor.

This year's sixth annual walk was held at the West Tennessee Healthcare Sportsplex.

The walk helped to raise awareness as well as money for other women fighting against breast cancer.

"We have noticed great growth year after year with just the community involvement and excitement around this event and with major support for our survivors", she said.
