  • Conor McGregor Slaps Security, Pushes MMA Ref ... in Crazy Post-Fight Scene

The Bellator employee that McGregor slapped was Mike Johnson, and the organization released a statement Friday night saying it is looking into the incident.

The stoppage had barely been signalled when McGregor leaped over the cage, sprinted over to his good friend and jumped on him in a manner that appeared to take even Ward by surprise initially. McGregor's invasion caused a heated confrontation with referee Marc Goddard.

McGregor had a few words for Goddard when they met again in Dublin for Bellator.

After exiting the cage, McGregor decided he was not finished with his thoughts regarding the situation (Warning: NSFW language).

McGregor then had to be restrained before he was escorted out and left the cage on his own.

It is not immediately clear whether McGregor will face any disciplinary action by the UFC or a regulatory body.

McGregor and Goddard have history, with the official telling the Irishman to leave the area when he was cheering and giving instructions to a team-mate at a UFC event in Gdansk earlier in the year.

This is the second time in less than a month the two have been involved in a cageside kerfuffle.

McGregor was knocked out by Floyd Mayweather during his pro boxing debut in August.

As the Dubliner climbed back onto the side of the arena an official came over to stop him and McGregor looked to have responded by slapping him in the head.
