  • Doctor Who sneak peek Jodie Whittaker's costume revealed

The coat lining matching the graphic on the shirt is a lovely touch, but this is a very interesting look for a new Doctor. The multiple earrings are just icing on the cake.

Revealing the costume now could be an indication that filming is set to begin shortly on the new series, with the BBC negating the possibility that sneaky set photos reveal Whittaker's look unofficially. Jodie Whittaker of the BBC series, "Broadchurch", will debut as The Doctor in a two-part Christmas special.

The BBC have shared this scintillating shot of the Thirteenth Doctor across their social media, depicting her atop some pretty idyllic clifftops. This is a really exciting time and Doctor Who represents everything that's exciting about change.

The moment surprised the crowd at the glitzy gala, which was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. Watch the amusing interaction below! It's a case of ask and you shall receive in the world of Kate Winslet .

But she won't be seen on screen in her first full series as the iconic time traveller until the end of 2018, but bosses are wasting no time getting to work on her first run as they've gathered the cast for a read-through. Yet in true Doctor Who fashion, there are discernible nods to the show's past in her getup. It kind of reminds us of the Sixth Doctor's colorful ensemble, but this is a lot easier to look at. I also love that she's got so many other hints of previous incarnations in this outfit. The suspenders could be an homage to Eleven's (Matt Smith) outfit, while the striped sweater might be a wink at Tom Baker's striped scarf.

Curiously, some Twitter commenters even went as far as complaining about Whittaker's lack of tie, somehow forgetting that many Doctors, like Eccleston's Ninth, Davison's Fifth and Capaldi's Twelfth, didn't wear one. It means remembering everyone I used to be, while stepping forward to embrace everything the Doctor stands for: "hope". They are named Graham, Ryan and Yasmin, and are played by Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill respectively.
