  • Some Pixel 2 XL touchscreens are unresponsive near the edges, but a fix is coming

There has been also feedback about the Pixel 2 XL displays for not appearing as vibrant as the other smartphones.

There have been multiple bugs reports in Google's PIxel 2 and Pixel 2 XL devices since their launch.

According to Android Police, the Pixel 2 XL's unresponsive edges are due to the device's accidental touch protection feature, which prevents the device from registering accidental touches and taps. Now, multiple users have experienced trouble in operating the Google Assistant via Bluetooth headphones in Pixel 2 devices, however, Pixel 2 XL customers have reported unresponsive touch near the edges of the display.

"The touchscreen works while sliding my finger along the edge works, but when touching it directly, it doesn't detect that touch along the edge", wrote Deathsoldier11 on the Pixel User Community forum.

Apparently, this issue is a side effect of the accuracy of Google's software when it comes to repudiating accidental touches. Thankfully, Google has regarded the issue and will soon roll out an update to fix it. Stay tuned with us for more on the software issues on both the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.

The Google Pixel smartphones have been acknowledged by various critics for their attractive OLED displays and highest rated smartphone cameras.

For what it's worth, I've never noticed any responsiveness issues on the edges of my Pixel 2 XL screen in my day-to-day use. The good news is that Google has acknowledged the issue and will sort it out in a future OTA update. Several users have complained on Google's official forum and some have even documented it in a video. Cautious customers might want to go for the smaller HTC-made Pixel 2 instead. Now, in the latest reports, the company is going to fix an issue that is related to the Pixel 2 XL.
