Manhunt underway after deputy chasing suspects is fatally shot in Washington state

One of the suspects was killed on the spot and the other one was at large, for whom the police have launched a huge manhunt.

Deputies were called to the area of 45th Avenue Court East and 200th Street East for an attempted armed burglary at a home shortly after midnight Monday. Police have determined that two suspects were involved in the incident.

He was taken to an area hospital in critical condition where he later died. All roads were open by 6:30 a.m. except 200th Street East from 42nd Avenue to 50th Avenue. Residents have been urged to stay indoors.

The Bethel School District canceled all classes Monday because of the ongoing manhunt, which included authorities blocking roads leading to the district's bus facility and preventing bus drivers from starting their t pickup routes.
