Razer takes it one step further and leverages the hardware of the Razer Phone to not only create the laptop environment but also provide a trackpad.

This week we're taking a look at the Razer Phone taken to a new universe.

For right now, Project Linda is just that - a project, with no price or intended release date. But slide the Razer phone in and the device becomes, in essence, a laptop running Google's Android software.

An HDR-10 enabled display and Dobly-optimized speakers are only a small part of what the Razer Phone can do. Making its debut through the event this week, the company has brought forward a brand-new concept laptop called Project Linda.

The concept of transforming a smartphone into a more traditional computer is nothing new. And the Razer Phone's 120Hz refresh rate translates to smooth visuals on the larger 13.3-inch laptop's display as well. There is 200GB of storage space inside the laptop, plus a 53.6Wh battery that not only drives the screen and keyboard, but can charge a docked Razer Phone over three times without connection to a power supply. Having spent many trade shows with my laptop tethered to my my phone's mobile connection due to shoddy Wi-Fi, I can certainly see the appeal.

It's an idea that makes a lot of sense - using the brains of your phone but giving you the convenience of a keyboard and bigger screen - which is why manufacturers have been attempting it for years.

A full-size, built-in keyboard adds to the capabilities of Project Linda, providing enhanced productivity and differentiated gaming experiences. The screen measures 13.3 inches, with a Quad HD (2,560 x 1,440 pixel) display, and it can either mirror what's on the phone or act as a second screen for certain games and apps.

The triple-headed snake trademark of Razer is one of the most recognized logos in the global gaming and esports communities. There's also an assortment of expected laptop features, like a 720p webcam, audio jack and USB-A and USB-C ports.

We always ask about pricing when we see new products, and Razer's answers are nearly invariably unsatisfying-either "we don't know yet" or a number that's eyebrow-raisingly high.
