  • The Daily Show with Trevor Noah has launched a hilarious ad campaign

In a tweet posted late Sunday afternoon, President Donald Trump said he plans to postpone his fake awards show for fake news to Wednesday, January 17, from Monday, January 8 - just in case you thought things couldn't get any sillier.

President Trump on Tuesday night claimed he will announce awards for the most "dishonest" and "corrupt" media of the year. "The interest in and importance of, these awards is far greater than anyone could have anticipated".

"The President of the United States is starting his own awards show - the Stupid People's Choice Awards are what they're calling it", Kimmel said. This would be one of its kind media award by the U.S. president.

The 71-year-old said he would be handing out his "dishonest media" awards in various "fake media" categories, ranging from "dishonest" to "bad reporting".

Noting that Americans were "sick and exhausted of being lied to, insulted, and treated with outright condescension", the Trump Campaign said, "That's why President Trump is crowning the 2017 KING OF FAKE NEWS before the end of the year". But will he be physically able to give a trophy to someone other than himself?

"And I think I've wasted enough of my viewers' time".

FCC's Ajit Pai cancels CES appearance
The current threat that will mean no FCC chairman will give his annual CES chat, a change that was confirmed on Wednesday. Now that his plan has passed, it appears that Pai has simply chose to avoid his critics altogether.

But Trump supporters are jubilantly awaiting the announcements.

One big question facing the media is: Will they go live?

"At President Trump's request, we are holding a contest to name the 2017 KING of Fake News".

His tweet prompted worldwide bemusement and amusement, but now the President has said he is delaying the honours citing the "interest in and importance of" the awards. Traditional news organizations like the New York Times and CNN are sure to walk away with some prizes, but have been characteristically restrained about their ambitions.

Trump frequently rails on the media and accuses reporters and networks of being "fake news".
