  • Apple Fixes Telugu Text Bug in macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 Supplemental Update

Since it surfaced last week, Apple has acknowledged the issue and says it is working to fix it.

Today the company officially rolled out a new iOS 11.2.6 update that includes a fix for the bug that is causing iPhones. Last month, for example, Apple patched an issue where a certain URL could crash the iOS Messages app, or cause the macOS Messages app to slow down or freeze completely.

Apple has released a software update that prevents a text message bug from crashing iPhones. Apart from that, the Apple Watch, TV and macOS devices are getting the watchOS 4.2.3, tvOS 11.2.6, and macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 updates respectively.

iOS, watchOS, and macOS are all afflicted by it, save for the latest beta version of iOS.

The US firm's security update refers to the latest flaw as a "memory corruption issue" triggered by "processing a maliciously crafted string".

Distracted Apple Employees Accidentally Walking Into Glass Panels at Apple Park
Place thousands of people distracted by iPhones in a building that is mostly transparent, and perhaps the results are inevitable. As the story points out, none of the collisions have warranted a post to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Previously, iOS 11.2.5 was launched nearly a month ago, fixing multiple bugs, adding support for the HomePod, and allowing Siri to read news articles out loud (the service is now available only in the USA, the United Kingdom, and Australia).

In the release notes of iOS 11.2.6, Apple specified that the software update fixes the problem. To download the update, you need to go to Settings General Software Update and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Your iPhone has another new bug, and this time it could trap your device in a bootloop - a continual cycle of restarting but not actually launching into iOS.

As The Verge reported, the bug also afflicts other third-party applications, such as Gmail and Outlook for iOS, while others like Skype and Telegram seem to be unaffected.

In some of the scenarios, if the character is viewed through an iOS notification, it can cause the entire device to crash.
