Comey is Ready to 'CASH IN' on His Anti-Trump Rage

  • James Comey says President Donald Trump 'untethered to truth' in new book

Republicans are launching a preemptive strike against former FBI Director James Comey's credibility, labeling him "Lyin' Comey" in advance of his book and publicity tour in which he is expected to trash President Trump.

Comey said then-DHS secretary Kelly said he was "sick" about the situation and "intended to quit" in protest, saying "he didn't want to work for dishonorable people" - meaning President Donald Trump.

Further, RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel showed the hand that Republicans plan to play ahead of the release of Comey's memoir "A Higher Loyalty" next week and his accompanying media tour to promote it.

"...badly overstepped his bounds", the site quotes Hillary Clinton as saying in September 2017.

But some Republicans have abstained from publicly criticizing Comey before his book tour. Sen.

"I think [Comey's] trying to sell a book", Graham said.

Saudi Crown Prince Salman begins Euro tour in Paris
Trump has threatened to abandon the 2015 nuclear cooperation deal with Iran unless improvements are proposed by May 12. The two countries also said the Paris National Opera would help the kingdom develop a national orchestra.

The conversation took place during the same private dinner on January 27, 2017, where Comey has claimed the president demanded "loyalty" - and just days after the publication of an intelligence dossier alleging that the Kremlin had a tape of Trump paying prostitutes to perform the dirty deed on a bed once occupied by President Obama.

Since Trump dismissed Comey during the fourth year of a 10-year term he has remained largely silent, with the exception of testifying last summer on Capitol Hill and a handful of searing tweets aimed at the President. Bob Corker laughed on Thursday when Business Insider asked him about lyincomey.com, and said he respected Comey's public service.

The political contradictions surrounding Comey are underscored by how such a central part of the Republican plan is built around reminding Americans of how Democrats had disdain for him, particularly those from the Clinton campaign.

Comey's book, "A Higher Loyalty", is set to go on sale on Tuesday. He previously served as a US attorney for the Southern District of NY, and the USA deputy attorney general in the George W. Bush administration.

Comey's account lands at a particularly sensitive moment for Trump and the White House.
