For more on what Rossi, Marquez and victor Cal Crutchlow had to say and a full analysis of the dramatic Argentinian Grand Prix, pick up Wednesday's MCN. Nearly all of the riders first went out on wet tyres - except for the pole-sitter, Jack Miller, whose Pramac Ducati was fitted with slicks.

Marc Marquez has defended his riding during today's Argentinian Grand Prix after Valentino Rossi hit out at the Spaniard after the duo came together on track in the closing stages of the race.

But the drama unfolded behind the front-runners as Marc Marquez had a race littered with incidents from start to finish.

The last laps of the race though turned out to be the most exciting with back-to-back changes in positions. If all the riders race like this, this will become a very unsafe sport and it will finish in a bad way.

At the front Crutchlow made his move into the lead around the penultimate corner up the inside of Zarco to set up a final lap sprint for victory.

After a start delay due to safety conditions, with every MotoGP rider on the starting grid except Jack Miller on wets but opting to switch to slick tyres as circuit conditions dried up, all 23 riders apart from Miller started nine rows back in qualifying order.

Marquez's misdeeds began with the race's mixed-up start.

Marquez was charging through the pack following his penalty when he came up on Rossi.

Miller, Zarco, Rins and Crutchlow were then the leading group, with the leaders fighting it out for the win.

Rins ran wide on Lap 16 only to give the top spot to Miller again and drop down to fourth. Marquez, however, quickly caught him and took the lead. Vinales was promoted to P4, followed by Dovizioso, Rabat, Andra Iannone of Suzuki.

Non-factory Moto GP rider Jack Miller surprised the world by clinching the first pole position of his career in the Grand Prix of Argentina on Saturday, outdoing the factory riders in hard wet qualifying conditions.

Apart from the podium finishers, the other rider who would be happy will be Andrea Dovizioso, as the Ducati rider had a poor outing in sixth place, but still leads Marquez by 18 points heading into the third race of the season in USA. Though Dani Pedrosa was looking good, the Spaniard's campaign was cut short when he got bumped by Johann Zarco while entering Turn 13, as the Repsol Honda rider opened the throttle on a wet patch of tarmac that resulted in a highside, thereby ending Pedrosa's race. Pole position man Tony Arbolino (Honda) opted to start the race on slick, while championship leader Jorge Martin (Honda) pulled in at the end of the warm up lap to take the same gamble.
