Harvey Weinstein has arrived at a police station in NY where he is expected to surrender himself to face criminal charges in a sexual assault probe.
In a declaration filed on May 3 in the Weinstein Co's bankruptcy proceedings, lawyer Benjamin Brafman said Mr Weinstein was a "principal target" of an investigation being carried out by the United States attorney's office in Manhattan. Dozens of women have made allegations, including of rape and sexual assault.
The Hollywood film producer has "unequivocally denied" any allegations of non-consensual sex.
"Today's charges reflect significant progress in this active, ongoing investigation", District Attorney Cyrus Vance said in a statement.
The film mogul carried three books under his arm as he surrendered at a New York City police station Friday.
Not too hard, though, because Mr. Weinstein is reportedly planning on pleading not guilty to the charges.
The numerous allegations against Weinstein stretching back years have been credited as a catalyst for the #MeToo movement, which has helped expose the magnitude of sexual harassment, abuse and assault faced by women in nearly every facet of society and the workplace.
Law enforcement officials sayHarvey Weinstein is expected to surrender to authorities Friday morning to face criminal charges in a months-long investigation into allegations that he sexually assaulted women.

According to several u.s. media, the accusation of sexual assault would come from Lucia Evans, a woman who has testified publicly in the past that Weinstein had forced them in 2004 to give him a blowjob.
