  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a rally in Karnataka

The Prime Minister took to social media on Sunday to post, "Instead of giving a proper account of the work done by the Karnataka government in the last five years, Congress is busy hurling abuses at me".

PM Modi also blamed the Congress for "distorting history" as part of a conspiracy to divide the society.

Addressing a rally in Hubli, the prime minister called out the UPA government on the slow pace of development and said, "In 2011 under Sonia Gandhi's UPA only 59 villages were connected through the optical fibre".

The Thiruvananthapuram Congress MP never leaves a chance to grab the eyes on him by hitting his self-established bomb "Tharoorian dictionary" when it is about slamming the oppositions of advising fellow party leaders.

".And in Karnataka?" he asked the crowd, which said the Congress will be ousted from power in the southern state as well.

The Congress has realised its "vote bank politics is shaken" and, therefore, it has started a campaign for "misleading and spreading lies" among Dalits, and asked them to be aware, Modi said.

Karnataka goes to polls on May 12 and 2,655 candidates, including 219 women, are in the poll fray. This has anxious them and they have started spreading rumours to instigate the Dalit community, Modi also said. "I have heard that unless there is a "Deal" on the table, this Minister doesn't do anything with full heart (from "Dil")", said the PM.

"Had Siddaramaiah worked sincerely, farmers in Karnataka would have received water from the Mahadayi River without a fuss", said Shah.

Well, as we reported earlier, Shashi Tharoor was the most followed Congress leader on Twitter but the position was taken over by Rahul Gandhi. "Reject the Congress that plays such politics even over drinking water", he said. "The time has come to see off such a Congress party", he said. "They are at the forefront of celebrating Jayantis of Sultans".

Calling the BJP-led Central government a "compassionate" one, Modi said his party always cared for the welfare of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities. "I got it made as our Prime Minister has done good work in a span of four years", said Basvaraj, a tutor in the town some 400 kilometres from state capital Bengaluru.
