Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has singled out goalkeeper Hugo Lloris for praise following his side's 2-0 win over Watford in the Premier League.

Spurs are now on course to finish third if they win their three remaining games this season, with the club one point behind Liverpool with a game in hand, and should they do so they will finish behind Manchester City and likely United, with Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal among those behind. "It was important to get the three points as it allows us to be in a good position", said Pochettino.

Describing the victory as "massive" in the context of securing Champions League football next season, Pochettino added: "It puts us in a very good position fighting for the top four and that is the objective for the rest of the season".

The fact Kane got back to business against Watford will be a big boost for Tottenham given his uncharacteristically lean spell in spring.

"We are in a very good situation". They have now taken just one point from their last 11 away matches and they visit Manchester United on the final day of the season.

GK Hugo Lloris, 9 - Made three crucial contributions in the first half, denying Andre Gray and Richarlison one-on-one and then rushing out of his box to tackle Abdoulaye Doucoure.

The Argentinian wizard's speed of thought and feet around the box helped him to yet another hat-trick - the 46th of his career. The current style of play isn't almost as attractive as what we're used to, but it's just as effective in getting results.

Then again, the Steelers may elect to have him serve as their third-stringer so they can develop him a little more slowly. The 6-4, 227-pound Rudolph threw for 4,904 yards with 37 touchdowns and nine interceptions in his senior season.

Dele Alli took advantage of Watford's shaky defense and gave Spurs the early lead inside 16 minutes.

Dele Alli opened the scoring at Wembley Stadium for Tottenham, which won for the first time in three league games and requires two wins from its final three matches - against West Bromwich Albion, Newcastle and Leicester - to seal a top-four finish.

Against the Hornets, though, Kane returned to doing what he does best by netting his 27th Premier League goal of the season as he turned home from eight yards to wrap up all three points for Spurs.

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has warned his Liverpool counterpart Mohamed Salah that the race is on for the Golden Boot.

Pochettino, who has three years left on his contract, said Tottenham's recruitment policy and strict wage structure will stay the same "whether it is me or another". "I would like to have played better over the last few games but so would the team". The one thing I would say: When Jose Mourinho leaves Manchester United, this is the guy who I would want to manage my football club.
