While it aroused a tremendous roar from the sellout crowd at Quicken Loans Arena, the monster backboard-bank shot slam dunk wasn't enough for the Cavaliers to overcome defending champion Golden State.

It may have felt a bit too close to call up until the final minutes, but, in the end, the Golden State Warriors continued with tradition last night and defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in OH to now lead the 2018 NBA Finals 3-0.

Durant's clutch shot cemented Golden State's 110-102 victory and put them up 3-0 in the NBA Finals with Game 4 to be played in Cleveland.

The Cavs led 14-4 with 7:57 left in the first quarter, a complete flip from Game 2 when the Warriors jumped to a 15-6 lead with 8:12 left in the first quarter.

This is the fourth consecutive year (since 2015) that these two teams are playing in the NBA Finals.

Durant had 24 points and eight rebounds in the first half while the Warriors' other four starters made a combined 5-of-20 from the floor for only 13 first-half points and Cleveland enjoyed a 28-16 first-half rebounding edge.

"Yeah, I actually said the wrong thing", Green said. Durant is now nearing the chance to secure two National Basketball Association titles and Finals MVP awards over James while the two are playing at the peak of their respective games.

Francona ended his postgame news conference after the Indians beat Milwaukee Wednesday by saying, "Go Cavs!" He scored 51 points, his career playoff high, while shooting almost 60 percent to go with eight rebounds and eight assists in Game 1. In short, not looking their best at times this season might ultimately make them better.

"Steph is struggling, Klay is struggling, if you've got to have a "Mr October" then he's "Mr June" now because this guy has been the best player in June the last two years". "He's a scorer. You know, he's an assassin, and that was one of those assassin plays right there".

"That was incredible what he did out there", Warriors coach Steve Kerr said.

From there, the game never got outside of five points in either direction until Durant's crushing 3.

As Warriors backup point guard Shaun Livingston was walking to the locker room after the game, he yelled: "That's the way to take all the air out of the building".

"And I thought Durant hurt us with his one-on-one, getting to the free-throw line a little bit". Past year we were up 2, and he pulled up pretty much right at the three-point line and got a great contest, but he made it. His ability to handle the ball, shoot the ball, make plays at his length, his size, his speed.
