  • Nabil Fekir Liverpool Lyon transfer news

Liverpool and Lyon have finally reached an agreement over the transfer of Nabil Fekir to Anfield according to French newspaper L'Equipe. If reports from the Mirror are to be believed, Liverpool are hoping that the French club would agree to sell Fekir for a fee of around £50 million.

The France worldwide will need to have a medical on Friday to complete a move worth €65m and another €7m in add-on clauses.

But Aulas has revealed that the transfer is not close and is unlikely to happen before the start of the World Cup next Thursday.

"The record is at a standstill, there is no way forward", said Jean-Michel Aulas. The case won't certainly be resolved during the World Cup and I do not think that there will be changes before (the WC).

"We haven't set a starting price because we haven't discussed that yet".

Fekir's proposed arrival would be the latest ambitious statement from the Champions League finalists after the £39m signing of Brazilian midfielder Fabinho from Monaco, and with Naby Keita arriving from RB Leipzig in July in a deal worth £52.75m.

Fekir has also drawn interest from Chelsea and Bayern Munich, but Liverpool have been aggressive in chasing his signature.

The Swiss winger was part of the Stoke City side relegated last season and has been clear about his plans to exercise a relegation release clause written into his contract with the Potters.
